Be Still in His Presence
.
So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. (Romans 12:1-2, MSG)
Every day a thousand tasks are clamoring for our time. But the greatest task that will benefit us is spending time with Jesus. When we wait in His presence, He does His best work in us; renewing our mind and soul to be better fit to do the tasks that are before us. If we cheat ourselves of time with Jesus we jump head long into a day full of our assigned task and then we fully miss what He might have designed for our day.

We should not spend time with Jesus just because we think we might get something, although we will, but we spend time with Him because He is the ultimate gift. God delights in blessings us, He longs to shower upon us His abundance, but don’t allow that to become the idol in your heart. Anything can become an idol if it distracts us from Jesus, our one and only love. When we can make Him the ultimate desire of our heart, He will take care of all the rest. Wait in His presence and allow God to bring out the best in you.
